How the board works
Board composition and governance
The Board meets monthly to review the club’s finances, guide recruitment and marketing efforts, support fundraising activities, and coordinate event planning.
Co-treasurers develop an annual budget and present it for Board approval at the first meeting in January, ensuring responsible fiscal planning and stewardship.
RAQ’s competition season runs from September through July, beginning with an all-club meeting in early September to elect Board members, announce team selections, and present the upcoming competition schedule.
The President and Treasurer meet with the senior coaching staff monthly to address staffing, scheduling, member and team needs, and competition planning.
Consistent with the organization’s bylaws, Board members must have a direct connection to the club as parents or grandparents of swimmers, ensuring that governance decisions are made by individuals with a direct connection to the club and a strong commitment to its mission, athletes, and community.
