While our team classes provide a fantastic baseline, stretching just once a week isn’t enough to unlock your full flexibility potential. Science shows that increasing your stretching frequency to 5 days a week makes a dramatic difference in achieving significant range of motion—making milestones like front and middle splits much easier to reach. By committing to short, consistent sessions at home, you outpace the progress of training only two or three times a week.
Frequency: Stretch 5 days a week, followed by 2 days of rest and recovery to let your muscles adapt and repair. Duration: Aim for short, focused 10 to 15-minute sessions daily. (Note: If you are stretching only 2 to 4 times a week, individual sessions must be longer.) The 1-Minute Hold Rule: Hold each target stretch for 1 full minute per muscle region. Intensity & The “Mom Test”: Stretch at a low-to-moderate, tolerable intensity. Avoid forceful, high-intensity pain—if you feel like you need to cry out for mom’s help, you’ve pushed too far! Gentle endurance beats force every time. Parent Partnership: Team up with a parent to help keep you accountable and support you through your daily routines.
